Plovdiv Branch of Sofia Technical University was established in Plovdiv in 1986 and has two faculties: Faculty of Electronics and Automation (FEA) and Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (FME).
By decision of the Council of Ministers the Branch became an independent juridical entity in 1990.
The classrooms and laboratories are located in four buildings. A computer network has been installed providing access to quick Internet. The Branch has a rich library, two well-equipped canteens and a hostel accommodating five hundred students.
